NC SUPREME COURT CHIEF JUSTICE RACE (Need Observers)
After all the counties certified their results at the canvass last week, Justice Paul Newby gained the most votes to become our next NC Supreme Court Chief Justice. The soon-to-be “former” Cooper appointed Chief Justice Cheri Beasley, knowing no statewide recount has overturned a race, has requested a recount. WE NEED 2 or 3 observers for Friday November 20. The recount will take place downtown at the Board of Elections and we need a few observers to go in and watch. If you can do that for us, send us a message or email; hokegop@gmail.com ASAP
MEETING THURSDAY Nov 19
We WILL have a meeting Thursday November 19 at PK’s Grill Raeford Airport 7pm. WE MUST start working on plans for 2021/22 ASAP! ( We need to folks to monitor boards and commissions like County Board of Commissioners, School Board, City Council, Planning and Zoning, Parks and Recreation as well as Board of Health )
REPUBLICAN WINS
In my previous brief, I failed to acknowledge ALL the wins we had this time and of course over the past few years. IN 2020 we help elect our first ever Republican District Attorney in Mike Hardin. Steve Bibey who was a judge before the district was realigned and King Roy appointed a lesser experienced democrat to the post, was RE-ELECTED, CONGRATS Steve and Mike. ALSO a few cycles back we elected Republican Michael Stone to a District Court seat and in a nonaffiliated race, elected a strong Conservative Republican in Charles Allen to City Council in Raeford. WE MUST find more candidates to run for City Council, Hoke County School Board, Commissioner and others and we WILL!
